was the hand brake still engaged? cuz if not then it was probably just a fuse. But if it was then well.... you probably shouldn't have been driving around town like that, but it could be a problem with the linkage, but more then likely probably just a fuse. Or did you check your brake lights? Maybe one is burned out. That happened on my old car.

let me go check really quickly right now, my hand break was down all the way so i know that...
i check my lights all of them were working but i dont have any needle nose plyers to check my fuse and which one whould it be?

ever stop to check your brake fluid?
the light will come on if that gets low

there should be a fuse puller in your fuse box, on the driver side kick panel, and i am not sure which fuse it is, i could go check, but it would be easier for you to look at the diagrams on the fuse boxes. I would try the driver side one first. then go from there.

i think i check all the right fuses and all of them were fine so i dont think its the fuse

my mechanic said that the break was engaged while i was driving when my hand brake was down and now its doing the samething again. i probably think its linkage can anyone help me out with this or tell me how i can fix this?

Did you ever check the fluid? I have a leaking piston and mine comes up when the fluid is low. If I make a hard turn the remaining fluid (low as it is) will hit the sensor and turn off the light.

Do you know your mechanic well?

There is really no physical linkage to the ebrake on a stock 240. There is a spring and a small arm. That is connected to the cable on your handle.

If you linkage were hung up you would smell burnt break pads. They would constantly wear on your rotors. Check to see if they are low.

Check your rims for excess break dust.

<------------------------- Has locked rear breaks up and has driven 700plus miles with them. I have learned this first hand :D

Drift = break stuff!

i'll second the previous post

I actually tightened the banjo bolt on the rear passenger caliper and everything is looking ok. No light in a week and a half including a hyperfest drift event.

Mint. Did you look over the calipers for any leaks?
