help with installing shocks

i have a 93 coupe..

im installing eibach springs with kyb shocks..after i took of the stock shocks i matched them up, then realized that the top part where the screw is for the stock one was angled to the left while the new one was angled to the right..is it like that because one is for the left side of the car and the other is to be put on the right side?

i got these shocks from a 90-91 240 fastback and i was told that they are all compatable.. i need help a.s.a.p

The strut and the black plate that the spring is up against on the top (sry don't know the official name) need to be matched up to the correct sides of the car. There should be an R or L somewhere on the bottom 4 inches of the strut. The plates that hold the spring on top are marked RH and LH (left hand/ right hand) the marking is on the flat part near the hole that the strut comes through. The notch on the edge of the black plate should face the engine.

hopefully this helps.
