i need MORE susp.

I'm gettin ready to drop more dough on the susp... i have a very nice setup in mind so far... that will transfer when i get the HKS units. Tell me what you guys/girls think. I currently have KYBGR2 struts and Eibach prokit. I ordered CUSCO front and rear strut towers already... for the near future, after bodywork i want to order CUSCO 30mm sways front and rear, CUSCO rear control arms, CUSCO front tension rods, CUSCO front camber plates, HKS upper strut mounts front and rear, and finally install a urethane bushings kit. To finish it off, once i get the rims i want to order HKS full coilovers. This looks liek a really good setup, I don't think i missed anything, any comments if i did??... i want to be on rails, i was actually thinking about buying the OBX rear lower tie bar too, would it be needed? it might help me on the holeshot but i think that is it. I believe that handling is no. 1 priority in driving, once you handle good, then u can go fast. thanks alot any comments on these products would be appreciated! :thumb:

sounds pretty tight to me, how do you like those eibach pro-kit springs, i have them on my 240 i like the ride quality, it didn't lower the car as much as i expected but much lower and i'll be chewin up my fiberglass front air dam, i would recomend replacing some bushings too if that hasn't be done, hks coilovers sound nice and so does all the cusco stuff, also for some other options chek out pdm-racing.com and take a look at their whiteline adjustable sway bars , pretty cool man :thumb:

umm, how would a lower tie bar help for the holeshot?

drifties151 11-25-2002 08:17 PM

i liek the eibachs... yeah its not that low of a drop, but its all good, i keep the ride quality for now.... i needed to put them in becuz the freak that had the car b4 me heated the springs so i needed something asap.
As for the holeshot thing... thats what JUN says lower tie bars "drag rear mainbar"... i dunno if it is true.

spitz7985 11-26-2002 08:56 AM

i lower tie bar just stiffens the chassis (some say 240s don't need the extra support back there b/c it's already stiff enuff due to the rwd)

I know man... i just said it MIGHT help... i want the susp. to be flawless before i do any type of swap, just exploring what the deal is with some of these products... u know anybody who has one on there?

a lower tie bar on a 240sx is useless. it does nothing. the suspension design doesn't warrant one (afaik)

HKS coilovers are nice, but they are very pricey. What the hell do you do with your car that you need HKS coilovers? Get groceries?

also you sound like you are buying a lot of expensive crap just for the hell of buying expensive crap. Do you know what any of that stuff does?

boro240 12-15-2002 04:06 AM

wow man. you say what im thinking but am too nice to say, haha. well with this at least, and only to a point.

Nice double post :thumb: If you absolutely need to know the answer you can PM me, anyways...
So the rear lower tie bar is useless, it was the only part i was iffy about, nice... that saves 100 bucks or w.e they cost out of my pocket. i do alot of auto X with my ka motor, it will all change though once i drop the SR in :bigok: I believe you get what you pay for ;) Thanks for the input.

no problem. just know that there's a lot of other junk out there besides cusco that is easier to find and is hella cheaper ad works just as good.

drifties151 12-15-2002 10:08 AM

yeah i know, but it all comes down to quality, and knowing what is good and what is great... i have heard and seen nothing but great reviews about CUSCO... i mean when building a car... some of you may not want to agree with me on this one and thas cool but, i think that other things than the motor NEED to be done first... liek suspension is #1 on the list right next to brakes. i mean i can have all the power in the world but if the car doesnt seem solid and able to handle all that power, whats the point? :thumb:
