hey everyone im new the site (just bought my buddy's '92 SRpowered project...so i can finish it) anyways...
1) it definately needs some new wheels and i was plannin on getting a 5 lug conver but i was thinkin of goin staggered possibly 18xwhatever will fit i guess (and lighter ones for the race nites)...but what is the best offset for my s13? or best wheel size (what will fit etc..)

2) suspension is shot and needs new ****. has any1 has personal experiences w/ the new Megan Racing Streets? Or should i sell my soul and save up for the JIC FLA2 set i really want?

id appreciate any help or advice. thanks :werd:

First off welcome.

Secondly read this thread.

Did you read it? Ok, good. Now ask yourself, "Do I really wanna feel it?" Best choice would be "No" and you should really listen to what that thread says.

Now that thats out of the way, search around this wheel section, READ the stickies posted above for your offset question, tons of valuable information.

Now for the coilover question, search for that one as well. Theres a pretty big thread that goes over the whole Megan racing thing, take a look at it (read it).

Another thing, what is this car going to be used for?

alright i'll check out the treads...thanks for the welcomes. the car is mainly for street drivability (often) and more so for the drag track than for full drifting, but i would like to have a nice handling car for circuit and drifting (not that good at drifting yet but fairly decent at drag and lite circuit use).

you can't have daily/drag/circuit/drift all in one... but since it's mainly a daily, then I suggest to set it up as a daily - shock and spring or Flex coilovers... decent streetable tires like FM901's or ES100's, and forget the staggered look unless you're only doing it to look cool.:thumb:

Okay now drag really needs no handling. Circuit is completely different than drag and takes time to dial in a car.

Drift is closer to circuit that drag. You want wheels but you want 18's and you want them light. Well unless your going to fork over 1000 per wheel then i guess you better do some research.

For suspension a nice firm but not to firm setup will do you well for circuit and drift maybe drag. You need to decide a budget and not blow 10k then realise what it takes to try all of them.

We you realise what it takes to make a nice handling car then you should ask questions. As for now you should be reading and learning.

BTW 240 is a really ****ty drag car.

Solid axles owns independant rear end.

haha thanks guys...i guess i wasnt really specific (ie: all the different types of racing)...anyways **** all that confusion. In all reality i know im not goin to be able to do most of the **** i wanna do (cuz my income sux and my budget is low) but basically...i jus wanna build this car for good handling...and be relatively fast. im not lookin to over kill either aspect but to be in a good median of both. Anyways ive been lookin around and researchin. if any1 wants to add anything else im always open to ideas and advice. thnx

Get some entry level coilovers, tanabe soc type 1 or tein super street things of that sorts.

They wont break the bank and offer you way better handling than some shock and spring combo.

I've noticed a lot of places only sell z32 rotors and not calipers. Can you use stock S13 calipers with the rotors?
