Problem, rear wheel hop.

Problem, rear wheel hop.
well, this is my first 240SX, and it is my first rear wheel drive car. The problem is when I attempt to slide the rear of the car, the rear wheels just keep on hupping. So, what is it? Do I need some new parts, springs, shocks, coilovers, lsd? Am I driving at a low speed when I try to do it?

sounds like you need a lsd.

Shocks: they are not dampening. That is the force which keeps your wheels planted when you accelerate. Your wheel will want to move forward and up. The shock will help stop this.
Subframe: looong chance that this is the problem but I know some people with rusted ones that have problems.
My solution right now is this. When I used to get wheelhop I just open my trunk and click it away.
Adjustable dampening has it's perks.

A friend of mine told me it could be the shocks too. I also forgot to mention that the wheel hop happens only if I turn one way and not the other. Does it help any to figure out the cause?

Do a quick check.
Take the shock out and give it a compression. See if it resets and how much pressure it will take to get the piston into the housing.
Mine didn't come back out when I took them out. hahahahha memories of the S.S. StanBo. The car handled like a boat. I swore I was in someone's wake when I shifted lanes.
