Snow Tires Recommendations?

Old man winter is pounding on the door... time to gear up for winter~ which means SNOW up here in the Bay state. I've never bought snow tires before, so I'm looking for some advice/recommendations from those of you experienced with snow tires. I'm planning on mounting them on 16 x 6.5 " rims. Thanks in advance.

If you plan on drifting during the winter don't get these but if you aren't get the goodyear assurance tripletred their some of the most hardcore all season tires for stock rims out right now

all season tires? or snow tires? I'm not planning on doing any drifting or hard driving in the winter. Just looking for something that girps as much as possible in the snow, will not wear it's treads out in two seasons, and will not put a huge dent in my wallet...

i recently picked up a set of slightly used Dunlop Grapic DS-1's on 5 lug steelies for my S14 for the winter, I obviously haven't used them yet but they sure as hell look like they'll grip like a **** compared to regular tires in the snow...the tread is real aggressive...interested to see how much they help. i know that in my friends s14 last year, he had falken ziex all seasons and driving in the snow was, interesting/challenging to day the least...

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they cost?

i got a good deal on mine, picked up a set of the Dunlop Graspic DS-1's on 5 lug steelies used only for not even a full winter for $300. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...%2FPerformance

that link is for the newer version the DS-2's, i believe in 16" they have them listed for $80 each...
