Strut cartridge / springs ideas?

this is probably the stupidest question thats ever been asked on here but is there a difference between a strut cartridge and a strut?
a cartridge doesnt just replace the broken parts in a strut does it? cuz im about to buy koni adjustables for my 1995 240sx and i dont want to get the parts and not get what i need... that would be frustrating

also any info on struts and springs would be greatly appreciated
ex - trusted brands specifically

thanks
im looking to spend no more than 500 for struts and 150 - 200 for springs

a cartridge is a replaceable part on the strut body (my understanding from 1 min of google...)

kyb agx and eibach (pro or sportline)

if youre gonna spend that much, coilovers is the better investment. i got agx and tein s-techs but only because it was great deal ($250 years ago...)

I could be wrong but I thought a strut cartridge is independent of springs. IE: pathfinder has leaf springs in the rear the strut cartridge just bolts on.
240s use strut/spring combo. spring compressor deal all around.

why spend $700 on springs n shocks when you could get megan coils for $800...not saying theyre the best but theyre a hell of a lot better for only a $100.. tein springs have a horrible drop and ive heard they ride soft..
