URGENT! brake pads won't install
 

This is getting rediculous. we've been able to install the rear brake pads before. but now we cant get anything to fit. are there any tips of how to get the pads into the retaining clips?

if your problem is with the retainer clips just force the pads into place. i always have problems with the piston not going deep enough into the caliper. if that is your problem you need one of these or something simaulerhttp://www.drivewerks.com/catalog/sh...AT265_pg18.htm

get needle nose pliars and squeeze the piston on the grooves, and twist it u dont needle that fancy dancy stuff lol

i actualy made a wrench for this but the plyer idea works too hence the "something simauler".

i already took care of the piston right off the bat. the problem is the inside pad won't slide into the bottom retainer clip.

then maybe you got the wrong pads?

the old ones are the same

finally got one side on. unfortunately when tightening the lug nuts i reset the brake to keep the tire still. the otherside caliper was off and now it is locked shut. how can i back the piston out with the pads still in?

take the cap off the brake fluid resavor or bleeder screew and push the piston down while turning it.
the reason i said you can bleed it is because you can probaly use some new fluid in your system

we did that but the piston was pressed up against the brake pads. we took off the torque member (other assembly attached to brake) got the pads but still had trouble getting the caliper on the rotor. we are going to reattempt tomorrow.

now the car is sitting on jack stands smashing the frame rails overnight.
