very rough ride
 

i recently replaced the rear shock absorbers on my 95 240sx that i want to return to fully stock. i jus had this car for a month and got ripped off on it. i dont know how smooth the 240 really is supposed to be, but i checked all shocks and see that the rear shocks are covered with oil. so i replaced them, since they were dead. im not sure if the fron tstruts are dead, but since i have replaced them, the ride is some what smoother, but still a little bumpy.these shocks are kyb gr-2. could it be that the two front struts are dead to? theres no oil leaks one them. also i have 18X8.5 tires in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear. could it be the big rims/ tires that are making my ride not so smooth? please club240 help a fellow 240 brother out with this so i can get started on modifying this thing

a thinner tire side wall will sacrifice comfort for handling.

yea those wheels n tires are gona make it rougher, what offsert are your wheels? just save and buy coilovers dont buy that gr2 crap again

The thicker the sidewall is, more comfort and not as quiet (pending tred design)

The thinner the sidewall is, better handeling (more feed back) but sacrifice your comfort and depending on tread design again, noise is an issue (like Dunlop)

he said he wanted to return the car to "fully stock" so the GR2's are a good pick.
but then again. a stock 240 doesnt have 18"wheels.


lengnoou: the roughness comming from the front of the car? then you're probably right about your fronts being weak. if it's pretty even all around the car, it's probably the wheel/tire combo, you running on what 35series tires? ha.
