Whats the best suspension for drifting?
 

I have A 91 240SX AND i was wondering who makes the best suspension for drifting. I was tinking on TEIN and their TYPE FLEX with the EDFC. would this be a good choice?if not,who?:dunno:

someone told me type flex is a carpet queen coilover. i mean non fujita uses it, but would i? nope. best for drifting would be the RA's i believe. I own a set of HE's (winding master) but i dont think they're the best. try a search next time, might help you more

there is no best set.. learn to grip before you ever drift

yeah i dont think there is a best setup b/c if you looked at all the drivers at drift events and asked about their cars they would all have a different setup.. it's about how you like it and how you set it up..peace

well one thing i can recommend is to learn to drive a stock S13....not that you cant..but know your car before you change it.

then get some stronger adjustable componets. things that will make your cars suspension more predictable

Get a good alignment. You can get some awesome camber with your stock setup.

Get some good breaks.

Find an empty lot and an area where no one goes at night.

Then get seat time.

people can always give you suspension suggestions, but I figure either way its how you want it. A good driver can make my stock suspension do good. I can make my stock suspension look like I am running with no springs at all.

The FLEX however is not a drift suspension, yeah you may think you are cute with your adjustability, but everything I have heard about it sounds like ****. I don't want to say much cuz i havn't driven it, maybe on its stiffest its the ****s.

The best drift suspension = the most expensive :-D nah, idk....try GPsports that stuff seems like it was designed only for drifting and with 12/10 springs, they are my dream set.

I rock the HAs and love them. I have the dampening on 3 (low) of 16 and have the skill to load the springs up for some side-to-side action.

I think I will turn them up when I get my SR.

I would love to go with some harder stuff but I don't have the skill to warrant the expense.

it's not what coilovers to drift with . it's drift with coilovers.

lets put it this way i got a friend who has won 2 of the 3 hyperfest drift events that he has been to. you know what he has?

like a 2 year old ,almost blown out ,set of kyb gr2's with a prokit on them.


and he can sling his car around very nicely.


coilovers in general will help.

and 12/10 kg's on spring rates is insane!

tony shultz, in PA this year and NC last year. black s14 turbo KA.

unstable hybrids cross the windsheild.

Tony is the man. I heard his runs at hyperfest the next day would have one him the contest.

I guess he needed time to get used to the track.

well it wasn't that. we pulled his steering rack bushings out(well what was left of them) and they were gone. so his car was locking kinda to far one way and then not going back to place. and he had switched from 712's to es100's so he had to get use to how his car was working. said the es100's were alot more grippy.


add pressure fom just being judged and bam he didn't even place.

then the next day i think he said he put some old kumhos on the rear and got used to how his car was acting. so he did have better luck.

and tony is da man indeed. we hang alot and he has showed me a bit of stuff about driving and drifting.
