$3600?

Alright guys, I'm ready to boost the KA24DE and start making some serious horsepower. I have $3600, maybe $4K next week and I'm wondering could that get me 450whp with a T3/T04 single turbo setup?

I doubt you will see 450 wheel horsepower with $3600, theres alot of things you will need to make that kind of power and I don't think you can do it with that amount of money, about $2000 would go with just an exhaust manifold and pistons and rods, you still need a turbo (not too cheap for that kind of power), fuel management, clutch, intercooler, piping, wastegate, oil lines, exhaust etc..etc..

I'd say with that money, shoot lower than 450whp

3.6gz eh, why not sr-20 it? or rb25?

you could goto ka-t's website and they show you differnt setups to get a certain amt powe. i know you have a ka24d but take a look the threads something like; sohc turbo for dummies.. somethin like that.

another way look on cardomain, and search at people's 24d's and see what mods they did or anything. im sure if you e-mailed them questions they'd more likely be happy to help you

last way is to searc on people's cars already exsisting on the forums.

but, not to 'flame' you or anything, but before you say you are ready to boost it, i think you should read up before you boost your motor and something wrong happens.

you could maybe, just maybe see close to 400hp but thats just using a fat turbo and boosting the motor high. Which prob isnt safe at all.

You still need to get all the turbo stuffs: I/C, BOV, wastegate, mani, etc. Thats like 3G+ there alone...

Plus you def need to do some internal work. So I dont think you can hit your mark unless you bump the funds up.

IC, BOV, wastegate, mani doesnt = 3 gs. you can buy a turbo kit for 2gs alone.

You may be able to get a kit for about $2000 but your not going to be making anywhere near 450 whp. To make that kinda power I still say your gonna have to spend more than $3600.

I guess I could just build the internals tough and spray it with a 100 shot till I got enough $$ to go boosted.

i'd say just get a rebuild first, get your fuel management and whatnot and work on tuning before you turbo, that way you know what your doing.

Yeah $3600 won't get you 450WHP and have it last, I have about $25,000 into my engine/management alone and I am only at 450whp I am being held back by the turbo I have. TD-06SH 25G I will have a new turbo kit soon and the 25G is up forsale.
