Bare with me
in new to all this nissan stuff. once the insurence stuff is taken car of with my old car im pickin gup a 1990 240sx from a coworker. i think its the SOHC ka24e engine. im not sure. im a gm/dodge guy. i rely on some web freinds for info. one of them suggested to me learn to drive the car since its different from my gtp camaros and my old viper. im a mod nut so of course stock is never enough. anyway ill work on the suspention first. i know it nees and altinator. i have a system i want to install so any links to high output alts would be awsome. i thought about a sr20 swap well as much as i can since ive only been reading this stuff a week. my one buddy suggested i get a spare stock engine and rebuild it. then run a turbo on that. bigger displacement. he is the computer nut i cut, weld, and drive so i consider what he says. where are places to get engine parts like cams, head, header, turbo manifolds what ever. i like to research before i start and do a build sheet before i get things moving. thanks

The KAe is a really good motor to turbo charge. The problem is finding the right aftermarket parts, although oem parts are VERY cheap and very easy to find. If you didn't want to go nuts with it turbo charge the ka instead of swapping in the sr. I, actually, am selling a tig welded turbo manifold for the single cam ka's with the downpipe. If you wanted to build the system from scratch this would be an excelent buy! The only thing you would need to buy is a turbo and an intercooler. The motor is an iron block and would take as much abuse as you could dish but, as you know, misc. parts need to be upgraded if you wanted a S load of boost. On the stock motor 6psi is adequate and would have approx. 200hp at the flywheel. Not bad for a small investment. Streetable and safe. Hit me up if you're interested in the manifold and downpipe.
