I got wrong stock boost reading
 

hi, i just hook up my electronic boost gauge today, after i driving around, sometimes red line it. The peak boost i got is 0.46kg/cm2 which is equal to 6.54psi. Why is the boost is lower than the stock 7psi boost? is it mean that some where is leaking?:dunno:

check all vaccum lines, specially the one from the actuator to the intake pipe...

where is the actuator thou? also, if the intercooler is leaking, how do i check it??

are you running a stock side mount or whats the gimmick?? basically to check for leaks look at all pipes and get some tape and some TB cleaner and spray some inside pipes and see if its leaking anywhere... be sure to clean off the insides after wards.. and for intercooler boost leak i forgot but i think they sell something at home depot that will help you out with that... basically here is the actuator and you hook up a vaccum line from that to somewhere on the hot pipe side...

what is TB cleaner?

throttle body cleaner, when you spray it into the pipes you will see it shoot out of any holes if you do happen to have any leaks

The t25 is a notoriously inefficient turbo (assuming that is what you are running) It will not hit 7lbs and stay there. Sometimes it will go to 7lbs then fall to 5lbs then come back and sit at 6lbs.

I am running 14lbs and I hardly every see 14lbs due to the fact that to run 14lbs I have to set my boost controller to 18-19lbs let it spike then fall to 14lbs. It's just not a good idea and do it only when I go to the track.

If you want to hold boost better get an HKS actuator and a better turbo :thumb:

dood, lol go ahead and use up the $55 for the hks actuator... it will hardly help man... the t25 is just too small of a turbo to be holding steady boost readings at whatever psi..

my first suggestion to you would be to take the electronic boost guage and sell it on ebay or something and pick up a mechanical. a mechanical boost guage reads actual boost as opposed to an electronic translation of actual boost. the manual guage is only about $55 if you get an autometer guage which i like the most. Other good advice is to check your vacuum lines, but if you had a leak on the hose that goes to the actuator, your boost would be too high, not too low. Oh, and do yourself a huge favor and buy a boost controller. all you have to do is turn a nob and get more HP! Pretty cool huh!
