Ill effects from a blow off valve?

Ya, ya.. I know.. another blow off valve question from a n00b.

I was wondering what are negatives of running a blow off valve that vents 100% into the atmosphere. Noticeable poorer fuel economy? Noticeable decrease in performance? ??

I've always read and been told that a recirculating blow off valve is faster and makes the car run better, but do not lack enough actual experience with one to judge for myself.

So help me out please.:D

maybe this will help you a little. it has several opinions on both of these bov's. you will have to just make your own opinion. but the one thing to remember is that you can recircluate a open bov.

recirculating it does give you the best results. all venting it 100% into the atmosphere is going to do for you is make the sound very noticable

a BOV couses ou to lose hp and time when your boosting but is needed if you are not running a BB turbo
