Slowly Over heating. Causes??
got a slow overheating problem.
will start to over heat very slowly after 30 mins of driving
i just turn on heater to cool it down back to normal.
i have no smoke coming from exhaust
tryed a full coolant flush still the same.
installed a koyo radiator still the same (with water wetter)
check all hoses no leaks
im doing stock boost
idles normal
drives normal but just slowly over heats more and more until i turn on heater on high.
the cause?
1. thermostat?
2. water pump?
3. head gasket? ( i pray its not )(could it be even if i dont have any smoke from exahust??)
4. intercooler?(you think intercooler is too large and blocking air to flow to radiator??) intercooler size 24x12x4"
5.Radiator Fan?(the fans are two small ones on the radiator, not as strong as the stock one.) maybe fans are to weak?
any help will be great.

300ZX TT v.s. NISMO radiator cap

Lately there's been a lot of discussion on the Sentra Network, SE-R Net and, SERCA mailing lists covering the topic of radiator caps. The discussions have been centered on the advantages, differences, specifics, and cost between the stock GA16DE, SR20DE radiator caps, compared to the 300ZX TT and the Nissan Motorsports (NISMO) radiator caps.
We will try to answer a few of those questions here:
The stock OEM radiator cap for both the SR20DE and GA16DE have the same pressure ratings. This rating is marked on top of the cap, 0.9 BAR or approximately 13.2 lbs. psi.
The 1996 300ZX Twin Turbo radiator cap is rated at 1.2 BAR. This is approximately 17.6 lbs. psi. Where as the Nissan Motorsports (NISMO) cap is approximately 18.6 lbs. psi.
Okay, so you're probably asking, who cares, what's the difference?
Well, If you're running a higher pressure on your cooling system it helps keep the temperture down on the entire system, by raising the boiling point of the coolant. This will help during hot operating conditions like running the air conditioning while climbing hills, long road trips, bumper to bumper traffic, and high performance track or strip driving. It's especially helpful if you live in a warm climate.
Also, SR20DE powered vehicles tend to experiance water pump cavitation at around 6700 rpm at stock pressure. The higher-pressure rating will help reduce the this risk of cavitation.
Stock Sentra/200SX cap compared to the 300ZX TT cap on right(silver) You can see the heavier construction in the center
Nismo radiator cap is much more expensive for little performance value when compared to the TT cap, Although it is chrome plated instead of the duller zinc chromate and does have the fancy Nismo logo.
Price Comparisons
The stock radiator caps for the GA16DE, SR20DE and 300ZX TT are all about the same price, around $7 to $10. The Nissan Motorsports (NISMO) cap has been priced anywhere from $35 to $55. Besides the 1 lb. of psi gain over the 300ZX TT cap the only other differences are the chrome plated finish instead of the duller zinc chromate and the Nismo sticker.
300ZX TT cap is easily identified by the 1.2 BAR pressure rating on top of the cap.
Recommendations
We feel the 300ZX Twin Turbo radiator cap this is a great upgrade for the cooling systems on both the GA16DE and SR20DE powered cars. Especially for under $10!
The Nissan part number for the 300ZX TT radiator cap is 21430-54P00. It will fit any 1989 -2001 Nissan.

why not? someone with the same problem could come along and actualy do a search and find out about all the posibilities. but that's only helpful if people actualy searched.
