My Ka24e turbo project
I have been talking with TonysS13 and others working on my SOHC ka-t project. OK so after alot of research I think I have finished my Turbo list.
Manifold Realnissan $450 Turbo T3-T04 from www.turborepair.com (2 year warrenty) $450 HKS Super AFR (research made it sound better) $340 Turbo Timer Type-0 Silver HKS $80 Ca18det or Sr20det injectors $120 Fuel pump (suggestions who?) $150 Autometer guages, boost/A/f $80 custom exhaust $300 Waste Gate HKS $350 BOV HKS $220 FMIC $700 Oil Lines $40 vaccum lines/misc lines $20 Boost Controler $100 Did I forget anything??? Let see that is $3400. I will be doing the install my self so I will be ok. I would just like to know the best place for MAF??? and If I missed anything on my list??? P.S. I'm a huge HKS fan so that is where alot of my products come from. |
No one out there will even say if I have everything, a simple yes would be good enough???

I think the Walbro in tank fuel pump is the one most SR swap guys go for so it should handle your turbo duties.
I don't know much about the MAF swap but I have heard of some swaps. I will look around on my computer. I don't really know anyone except Tony that has done the sohc turbo so I don't really think you will have many people to get tride and true advice from. You will get help anyway. PM me if you need any more info. |
Thanks StanBo. I am just using my stock MAF and I have decided that I will mount it after the BOV so I don't confuse the computer when the BOV goes. The more and more I search the more I think that I have it right except i may need an igination upgrade. I also might need a fuel pressure regulator, but with the HKS Super AFR I will adjust it manually so I don't think I will. But if anyone has any suggestion please post. When I get done it will be a killer at about 8psi.

what about internals? how much do you plan to boost?

Sounds like a nice setup. You shouldn't be disappointed with the results either. :) The T3/T4 is a good choice as well because it can hold plenty of boost and shouldn't have a problems spooling up at all. I'm just wondering why you didn't want to go with greddy on some of your stuff.

Originally posted by StanBo If you are going to run a gauge as a failsafe please hook up an audible and visual sensor to it. One that will lightup and buzz/ring if the AFR fails and your car decides to dip LEAN. The real reason I'm not going with greddy is that I think HKS is better. I have never hear of anyones car blowing because of a failure by an HKS part. Also Greddy's parts are more money. After saying I will have a HKS waste gate I think i will change that to a tial 35mm waste gate (it is about $120 cheaper). |
just outta curiosity, why did you choose the t3/t4? is that the best one? also, are you serious that the turbo is only $4-- dollars?!? the others i have been looking at are like 2 grand on average.

The turbo i talk about before was rebuilt. But this one is brand new. I might even get a GARRETT T3/60-1 for 650 that turbo is huge. |
how is that turbo so cheap when the hks turbos are like 2 grand?
|
I don't know why they can sell them so cheap. GARRETT turbos are always cheaper than HKS and these guys porbably bought alot of the them and are able to sell them cheap.
