What on the block would you port? The water and oil ports? No you do not need to "port and polish" your block. When you have a head portED and and polishED they expand and clean up the ports above the valves for increased flow.

if you get larger pistons then you will need to do bottom end work, head work is not required although its nice

no, the headwork is totally different from the block work. You can have either one, don't need both done to work.

yeah, it will definately be better than the stock head.

Get the headwork on the spare head, when its done rip off the old head and replace with the new worked head.

you would probably be better off talking to the machine shop and seeing what is in your price range and what they offer for that.

hrt is like 20 mins away from me here. pricing dosent look too bad on handcraftedracing.com. i think like
Valve Job (3 Angle)
2 Valves/Cylinder
4 Cylinders $90
6 Cylinders $130
3 Valves/Cylinder
4 Cylinders $130
6 Cylinders $190
4 Valves/Cylinder
4 Cylinders $170
6 Cylinders $250

Stage One Port and Polish
2 Valves/Cylinder
4 Cylinders $70
6 Cylinders $105
3 Valves/Cylinder
4 Cylinders $105
6 Cylinders $160
4 Valves/Cylinder
4 Cylinders $140
6 Cylinders $210

What do they mean 2valves/cylinder then 3 valves/cylinder. wont i wanna do all of them?

it means how many valves there are per cylinder, the KA24DE has 16 valves, two exhaust and two intake for each cylinder, so thats 4 valves/cylinder, so according to that chart:

3 Angle valve job- $170
Stage one P&P-$140
