Straight-cut gears

Does anyone have a KA24DE-T set up with striaght-cut gear?... i dont really know much about turbos. All i know about straight-cut gears is that the car pops out of gear with regularity. What else do they do? What's their main pupose?

Your talking about the tranny, right? With a straight cut gear it is stronger than the normal helical cut gears. It is a little harder to get in gear during normal driving, and it will sound like reverse does all the time. If it pops out of gear I would think there is something wrong.

well i guess it pops out of gear maybe because of a miss firing rev limiter, such as the BEE*R one? i herd some boosted cars with striaght-cut gears and one guy told me it's easier to race with. i herd a FC and it sounded like his car was exploding everytime he shifted hahaha

Why would you want to run straight cut gears? The helically cut stock gears work just fine, won't wail like a banshee and they will shift better. You plan on running over 1000hp?
