Check out this guys v-mount. Pretty slick.
Do you guys know where you can get an intercooler set up specifically for a v-mount. Most intercoolers have the inlet/outlet on the sides not the top. Thanks!!

That is a terrible setup. The IC gets absoulutely no flow. Its really setup as an interheater. It looks like a modified starion intercooler. Im going to post some v-mount setups I saw from D1GP drivers search once i find a host.

i believe that HKS makes one with the in and out on the top or at least coming out of the sides and angled toward the back.

If you could find one it would be terribly expensive and would be a pain in the A$$ to work to do all the work.

i went to the rs-r enet here in chicago a couple of weeks ago. they had the jdm supra, sylvia, an 350z. they were also running a usd honda 2000 with a v-mount intercooler. I didnt see any benifit to them by running that setup. it looked cool, very cool. a huge ram air tunnel into a intercooler you cant see. but still not advantage what so ever. it was definetly still a honda and everyone there knew it!!!

well another reason is if you were to get into an accident what would you rather get tore up, $1000 front mount or a $300 radiator? also when you do the v mount cooling is better. radiator doesnt get blocked by front mount and the radiator will channel the air to the intercooler. alot of people in japan also fiberglass everything so the air will flow in a upwards direction.

I believe what you saw was the intake box...V-mounts aren't covered and require a vented hood so that the air can flow through...who would cover up a v-mount...that kind of defeats the purpose.

Did it look like this:

and this was the ram air piece you were talking about:

well, it looked like that but it was definetly a intercooler because, it was hooked to the turbo. i would hvae had pics to but i got the the event and my camera had no disc in it. so, it did have the ram air tunnel design though....i dont know it was wierd looking but very cool
