Why no love for the s13's?
Okay i was browsing around the internet seeing if anyone made a turbo kit for the s13 240s... well to my suprise, theres very few, and none from people ive ever heard of... BUT, theres TONS for the s14s.... what.. the.. f**k.. is it cuz the s13 is harder to manage or something?

its all the same btw no1 makes a good turbo kit for a ka ( im assuning ur talking aboutthat) jgs has a nice starter kit and if u wanna spend some cash and want serious power go to turbo240.com kit not out yet but ivan is running it the creator of phatka-t. if not just piece togheter ur own kit

If you're talking about turn-key kits (like the one from Turbonetics), it's just a case of economics. Nobody's gonna spend several thousand dollars on a turbo kit for a car that's only worth $1500 in good condition. The later cars are still worth enough that you won't be more than doubling their value by adding a turbo kit.

...okay, good point. But let me ask you this... since the s13 and s14 use the same motor (plus or minus a few things) wouldnt the physical pieces be the same? or does intercooler piping and such change? also, what about ecu and fuel management. I know the s14s use OBD I and II in later years, so would that matter any?

I think most kits for the s14 should fit the dohc s13s. The main issue would be the intercooler and piping, but that can be fixed with slight modification. There also maybe some minor clearance issues with accesories like powersteering. I would check out ka-t.org for more information on this. I know there are people there that have run kits that are ment for s14s on their s13s like the GReddy kit.

yeah thats the kit i was eyeballing
|
greddy sux 2 much cash for 3.5 k u can get nice stuff and what u want not what comes in a kit PS. greddy does not come with an intercooler

Turbonetics makes a kit for the KA and for the SR in the S13... complete kit with intercooler, and everything else needed. Buddy of mine has one on his S13. Last check he made 350 RWHP on decent boost...

everything should work out, whe i originally turbocharged my ka i had taken a kti off of my boss's car which was s14 onto my s13 and i even used the same downpipe and had it all work out, the only thing to pay attention of is if you get stand alone the difference between obd1 and II will come into play but any piggyback is usually 89-98 im prutty sure
