300zx conversion offset difference?(s13)

hello, me and some friends are about to convert over to 5 lug with the brake swap. My question is does it change the offset? and will it be harder to find wheels? should i just be searching for 240sx rims and ask for 5 lug? or shop for 300zx rims? or just do a brake swap without swapping hubs? i don't want to spend months searching for rim+tires, But i think it would be beneficial to have the 5 lug.i did a search of 300zx in the tire section but i didn't find anything.

car: 1990 240sx SE fastback

you will have to shop for wheels with a higher disk, that is, with more brake clearance. But that has nothing to do with the offset, and only concerns the actual spoke design. So yes, your wheel choice will be more limited with z brakes

wheels arent chassis specific.

just search for 5x114.3 wheels that will clear z brakes or just run a spacer to clear.

Ok i decided to go with the 4 lug conversion because i dont need anything real fancy or anything. i was looking at a pair of ROTA D2s' i like the price and i like the look i was thinking about getting the +35 offset they look like they would clear. http://www.rotawheels.com/d2.php
thats the URL do u think there is a better offset to get? im not sure how offsets work either. i want to have a flush look and will roll if i have to. i was thinking 17X7.5 or the 17X8.5. or would the 18's looking better on a 240sx i figured they would be to big. What is the opinions of the wheel gurus also what tires should i get? not brand but like sizes...

thanks in advance.

have you looked at the rota p45r? you can get them in 17x9 +25 in 4lug
the d2's aren't all that attractive to me.

17x7.5 sounds good to me :)

tehott240 03-31-2008 09:32 AM

why would you want to get wheels in +35 offset on a 240? if you were driving a civic then yeah but not a 240 please.

soul strong 03-31-2008 04:37 PM

those p45rs do look nice. +25 offset would put them flush with the body? i have a black 240sx an i was thinking about getting the bronze ones. and they only come in 18s anyone think those are to big for a 240sx? i went on the rota site and i didnt see a +25 offset just a +30.

silviaks2nr 03-31-2008 05:42 PM

yeah that's the rota website though haha
you gotta shop around a little bit to find the right sizes that aren't posted on their website. 18s look okay on an s13 to me

Do they make that rota p45r in a 17x8 and 17x9 4 lug? i think that rim would look nice on my s13.

Ayuaddict 04-02-2008 03:12 PM

they had a group buy for 18x9 +15, maybe they will do 17x9 +15.

i personally think anything less than 17x9 is stupid.

Thats kool to each his/her own i dont want my rims sunk but i dont want them stickin out past my fender. every one talks ricer this ricer that i think the ricer,s are the ppl that make there car what other,s want there car to look like. do what your goin to do its your car make it your,s even if your the only one that likes it. and befor ppl pop off and say that im just jumpin on the nissan D**K, ya, i might not know everything about my sr motor (ie. my af prob right now) but im not new to nissan,s its just goin from 510,s with L16 and L20 motors with sidedraft carbs to the sr is a big jump for me. Noob to the 240 not to nissan, hahaha
