I picked up some Z wheels cheap.

So I picked up some really cheap 18x8 350Z wheels from a friend of mine. I don't really want these huge, heavy ass wheels, but I need something to get my 5-lug conversion off the ground. Later down the road I'll probably pick up something lighter, but for now I'm stuck with these.

Here’s my question. They all 18x8, but the recommended tire sizes are 225's in the front and 245's in the rear. Any reason why I couldn't just run 245's all the way around? Also, it doesn't look like the offsets are any different, does anybody know if I could rotate these if I did run the same tire sizes?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

run 225 all around. yes, you can rotate them.

Those are the wheels. I don't have them on the car yet, no tires. As soon as I get some tires I will be doing a 5-lug converstion and a Q45 brake upgrade.

Is there a specific reason why you suggest 225's over 245's?

because he doesnt like wide tires for some reason :uppydown3d:
you should have no fitment issues with 245 around and it will look very nice. the 18" aren't really that heavy for 18s, certainly the 18" 350z track wheels are much lighter but they are decently light for factory wheels.

lol i was gonna say 215s which is what i would run. but i kept quite just for you spence lol.

silviaks2nr 06-29-2007 05:52 PM

well if you have all that fender space you might as well fill it up ;)

meh, whatever tire sizes you want. just nothing over 245. 8jj isnt that big. "roll over" is nasty.

haha, i love these wheel threads. me jordy, and ruiz are like "run the smallkest tire you can find" and spence is always like "more meat!" haha oh well. to each his own.

Hahahah

Well, I figured my GF's Spec-V runs 7" Wheels with 215's and a full inch ought to net me more then just 10 mm. I don't want to go too big because I know that will deform the tire.

good tires have stiff sidewalls and will not "bulge". 245 looks fine on 8" wide, 255 is max.

tehott240 06-30-2007 06:54 PM

i would go with 215's and 245-255 is way big thats like what truck guys like to run. 215 would give you a really stiff side wall and they are a little cheaper.

245's come stock on these wheels. The 350z is certainly not a truck. I do go to the track several times a year, and I think the extra inch of contact patch per corner should help alot.

i definitely agree. as i stated before good tires have stiff sidewalls and do not need to be stretched to maintain their shape under sharp cornering. 245 tires come factory on alot of 8" wide wheels.
