WOW you have two ROUND solo's! Awsome subs! and the chrome amp thats some really nice older equipment!

give me a more information on the amp and are the subs dual 4ohm voice coils or single 4ohm voice coils?
how are they wired to the amp?
sealed box is good for those subs. but what size is it? how many cuft? and is the box totally sealed?
if you dont have any info on the amps and subs try n get me the model #'s and i'll see what i can dig up on them. its tough to find spec's on older stuff.

man, ur fast. They are just the single coil solos. The box was custom made specifically for the solos by this one shop. I've tried stuffing that fluffy stuff in it also. The amp is the limited chrome power series. 800@2. I wired it parallel, + channel 1/ - channel 2 from amp to + - one speaker and then from the first speaker to the other + -

sounds to me like your not getting the right power to the subs.

for what i could find the subs should be getting 600wrms each.
your amps only capable of maybe a lil over 200wrms each. at the ohm levels your subs need

to be honest it looks like you need a different amp.
you can only wire your subs up one to each channel and get 200wrms each.
you could wire them together and get a 2ohm mono load but the amp is only stable @4ohms mono which would use its full 800wrms..

im sorry to tell ya but if you wanna push those subs to their potential your in need of a new amp.
i would recomend ikesound.com. JBL1200.1 for $250. this amp puts out OVER what its rated at but its 2ohm stable in mono giving your subs 1200wrms to share. just keep the gains low. this is a good deal the amp sells regularly at over $400.

240sx kid: do you only have $375 to spend? and if so what do you want and what do you have?
me personaly if i only had 375 to spend i would save it cuz 375 cant even by one of the subs im about to order.
im paying close to 900 for just (2) 10's. www.respl.com
im going to be getting (2) 10" xxx's 1200wrms in a 3cuft ported box tuned to 32hz and im going to run them with an Audiobahn A2X600HQ rack mount amp 2400wrms @1ohm. im gonna run infinity kappa 60.5cs's in the doors and infinity kappa 652.5i's in the rear deck. im gonna run the infinitys with an audiobahn A4601Q 75x4 @4ohms. all from a panasonic CQ-DF903U.
a lil over $2500 in total without wires or processors(eq's etc.).

what you have now is usually good enough for most people and you should be very happy with it. my system in the making should put out well over 150db's and sound very very good doing so. for most people this is WAY overkill. most systems you hear beating down the street do 130 to low 140's and every 3dbs its sounds twice as loud to your ear.
anyways enough rambling about my stuff.

just tell me what your goal is in a system and what you want to do with your 375 and i'll be glad to help.

mr_lee21: if you need anything else just ask. glad to help.

tell me what you got. ex:speakers?amp(s)?sub if different from the hx2 you talked about before, eq's?and deck.
then tell me what you think your system is lacking sound wise. tell me how you want it to sound.

oh and is the 400 for the amp and box for the hx2?

do a search for "bungie cord" or however you spell it. This was asked about a month ago and you'll see some good suggestions

As for an answer right here right now, I used small L brackets from the hardware store, and I screwed the speaker box to the wooden spare tire cover that sits underneath the trunk carpet.
