Audio system

I have about saved up enough money to do much of my cosmetic mods and Audio Visual Mods. I was wanting to run my Audio/ Visual ideas by you guys to see what you thought. So here is the List:

- Pioneer AVIC-N1
- Pioneer 6.5 Speakers front and rear
- Pioneer GM-6100f amp
- Pioneer GM-5100Y amp
- 2 Pioneer TS-W256C/DVC

The subs and Amps are going in the trunk I want to build custom boxes for the subs and mounts for the amps

So how do you all think that would sound?

The subs should have specs with them as far as enclosure interior volume... now to get that suggested volume in a custom box is all on you + measuring tape + calculator.

never build a box out of 1/2 in mdf... use at least 3/4 inch... half inch will flex way too much and you will loose performance out of the woofers... and any pioneer dealer will have specs if you cant find them on the net...

when you build the box to the corect volume make sure it is internal volume after speaker displacement is figured out of the equations...

here is the specs for the box... internal volume sealed...22.64 litres or 0.799 cu/ft per woofer... i would suggest you build the box 0.85 cubic foot per woofer sealed and put in half a bag of poly fill for each woofer...

the reason for using poly fill (synthetic pillow filling) it makes the woofer believe it is in a bigger box than it actually is... producing higher levels of spl... plus it will deaden any resonance inside of the box and reduce any unwanted noise from the enclosure itself...

good luck in your building... and one more thing remember that the enclosure size is inside length x width x hight devided by 1728... that will give you internal cubic foot volume of the enclosure...
