connect both switched and constant wires.. some of the newer radios take more power than the old.

Did you get a wire harness adaptor for this unit? Most units I've installed come with a color code for all the wires. Usually, the harness adaptor will take care of it all, but not sure if your car still has the factory plug.

I know it may sound stupid, but check the fuses. ALL OF THEM.

ok i install these for my job, first get urself a harness then check and see if u can get a "smart cable" for ur deck. those will let u just plug and play no need to cut strip or solder. if that dosent work i would recomend taking to a local circuit city or best buy to have a re wire done

You may want to check a wiring diagram. Do you still have the factory harness attached, or has that been hacked off?

Like Ryguy said, check all your fuses. If you're trying different wiring combonations, more than likely you have grounded a +12v source. Constant +12v is what's needed to get your radio to turn on.

i know this is horrible and i dont mean to thread jack, but what if your car doesnt have the factory plug and ur wires are super short in length. can u just get a new radio harness for behind the din and have that plug again or just keep splicing off those wires? sorry again, i just didnt want to start a new thread for basically the same topic.

Just splice them if you have a wiring diagram. Extend them if you need to.
