Question How do i put 6.5's in the front?

What would I have to do in order to get 6.5 speakers in the front doors?

From what I hear from the local stereo shops I asked about 6 1/2 in the doors, you have to custom fabricate a mount for them, they said its not that hard.

You will need a custom mount. There is a user on the site now that can't roll his windows down because of this install.

We will be fixing that soon. I have to get him going right.

i gots 6.5's in mine. you ned to take out the whole plastic crap from the stock speakers. my custom mounts were made with wood...haha. i used some leather/pleather...whatever, to cover up the remaining exposed area. the first one is the hardest, but onece you have that done the second one is ok. the only thing is my speakers are exposed, not inside the panels. i dont know if youd want to do this, but its how mine are. i have xpolds though so theres a plastic cover to protect them. hope this helps. =D

ouch, i would either A. go with kicker panels (if they make them) or B. get the 5x7's or whatever fits in there.

Is there some one or site that has a tutorial or step by step process on how to do it and what I need? I really can't afford to make mistakes

Post Speaker Installation

Try this site: http://www.autotoys.com/New_Tech/DIY_98/240sx/240sx.htm

It goes through step by step with pics. Even shows how to dimantle the door. I used it for my 240, and it was a piece of cake. Check it out.

hey just an idea for more sound.... put some 6x9's in your door?? that's what i did and it sounds sharp as hell. i just took out the old mounting, tooko off the grill that comes attatched to the door, cut the hole out maybe 1/2inch larger and sunk them right in... screwed them into the door panel... my pioneers came with their own grills so just used those to prevent damage ... id say it looks mighty fine..

peace..

not a shabby idea, but they not as sharp as separate components, but not a bad alternative
