got my new stereo put in the 240 yesterday, i got a nice alpine head unit, nice silver face, blue buttons, and plays mp3 cd's im happy, and i got boston acoustiv 4x6 plates in all 4 speaker locations, boy does it beat listening to those cracked pieces of junk in there...now i can drift and jam to some tunes...lol

 

What's the specs on the speakers you got?

 

hmm i dunno, i didnt check, they arent really that good for bass, but they kick *** on the mid's and high's...ill check for you though

 

Hmmm, sounds like a real nice HU and speakers. Did you amp the speakers or are you driving them off of the HU?

I broke down yesterday and bought Infinity Kappa 462.5's for the front and 62.5's for the rear. Finished installing them about 7:30 this evening. Man, I have got to tell ya!!! These bad boys rock my world! Unfortunately I am running them off of a crappy Awia HU that is putting out some really dirty power. I am going to get get an amp next week to clean things up. Now I just have to decide on which amp and sub to fill out the backend. Right now I'm thinking one of the JBL amps and a JL W6V2 10" for the trunk.

Which model HU did you get? I am going to be in the market for a new one real soon after I get the amp and sub taken care of. Starting my research on HU's now.
