question for TL!
hey TL,
i talked to u before about the idmax woofers.. and i'm planning on purchasing subs very soon now... well if i were to stay with my current amp which is a sony xplode (eew i know
).. being these are the features/specs on it......
Features:
2/1 Channel Amplifier 225Wx2
650Wx1
hi/low pass filter
bass boost
1 ohm stable MOSFET output
regulated power supply
speaker level input. 225Wx2 Ch
4 or 1 Ohms at 0.04% THD
325Wx2 Ch
2 Ohms at 0.08% THD
650Wx1 Ch
4 Ohms at 0.08% THD
Configurable Power Supply
P/N CHANNEL MOSFET Finals
Regulated MOSFET Power Supply
50-200Hz Variable Hi/Lo CROSSOVER
0 to +10dB Adjustable 40Hz Lo Freq EQ
Separate RCA & Speaker Inputs
RCA Output for Other Amps
These new Xplod amps let you choose between high voltage power supply rails for fender-bending 4-ohm power or high current rails for low impedance subwoofers or multi-speaker loads. Either way you get rock-solid performance from full MOSFET circuitry and a variable 50-200 Hz high/low-pass crossover. Also features speaker level inputs and an adjustable 40 Hz bass EQ.
... (sorry for pasting all that) which idmax (if any!) should i go for? i'm thinking a 2ohm setup? but i have no idea about ohm's or what not.... so thats why i need your advise.. (esp using this amp should i even go for a idmax?) i'm just looking for enough bass that won't make me deaf.. but also will always be enough!
i also can not find a 15" woofer... all i am turning out are the 12" which are completely fine...
hard bass v. sound quality... i'd go inbetween.. i dont want to hear a 'punchy' type of bass. but then again i dont want to lose the 'spl' type of feel.. to get sq.
thanks in advance

well with 650W (I'm assuming those numbers are RMS not peak) you're not going to be pushing the MAX to it's limits.. If it were me, at that power, I'd go with an Eclipse Aluminum.. But I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for either..
If I'm reading the specs right on that amp.. you get the most power at 4 ohms.. so a dual 2 is what you're looking for..

edit: gah sorry to bring this back up.. which model would i shoot for if going eclipse.. and if u were me... (having to keep this certain amp, assuming its sony and 'may' break down soon) what sub setup would u shoot for... again if u were me.
