Its easy as hell....ground one wire and tap the other one into any accessory power wire such as the one going into your radio. If you have an aftermarket radio, this will be the red wire coming out the back of it. Easiest electrical install possible.

Never stopped me when I lived there. Just have to be sure to be sneaky and get a get stealth one like the valentine one. However they have a tendency to use instant on which never give you much warning. 66 and 81 were particularly bad for this.

I still use one, just whenever it detects anything I turn it off and hide it under my seat =)

Small detector? What do you mean

I use a valentine one personally...it really is the only way to go. You can also get a concealed install kit with separate display

i guess i meant any radom one from best buy or like the huge industrial size ones. Those are supposedly unbeatable. Be it that they're $400-500

The only expensive ones I know are the K40 and Valentine one. Neither are huge, but I guess they may be slightly larger than the norm. Valentine One is 400, but constantly tests number one. I just read an article in Autoweek about the annual police test, and even they rank the V1 as the most effective with a Bell coming in second. The interesting thing they mentioned was that a couple laser jammers including the new Blinder (which i just got) actually work quite effectively until you are about a block away.

Wow, I might have to invest in a radar detector myself, then custom mount it to something to keep it hidden, lol.
