radio speakers inop

the front and rear speakers in my 1993 240sx stopped working, i had hooked up an amp about two weeks ago and the speakers and subs were working great, yesterday i was driving and all of of sudden they shut off, i checked all the connections on the radio and there all good, the amp and subs are still working but no interior speakers, any ideas anyone, please!!!!

the connections on your deck may have come loose. pull it out and check. The wires may have also shorted out, check all connections.

I hope you diddn't wire the amp to your speakers, the stock speakers aren't capable of much wattage.

Check your fuses.

another thing to look for is a shorted - blown speaker... it can cause the speakers running off of the deck to shut down (that is if you did not wire the amp up to the interior speakers)

I recently had a problem because i installed a 200w head unit, pushing 50 watt to each speaker.
I replaced the front speakers with 120w (capable) 3-way pioneers
BUT, i left the rears stock (had to order 2 more for rear) The headunit was pushing too much wattage to the rears, they were gagging and sending it back to the fronts, the fronts were then making wierd popping noises, all because the power was too great.

Make sure your not pushing too much power to un-capable speakers.

I've since-then installed all 4 pioneers, sounds GREAT, no popping anymore.
