I have a sony hu and i love it. that dso button is killa. good built in eq's. the sony cd tray (anti-skip) wonderful. These 2 features sold me personally but i believe pioneer over-all is better. but its up to you what you want and looking for and sony provided what i needed. my brother has a 5 year old pioneer hu and it still performs well and my neighbor has the pioneer premier and it rocks as well.

if you use an all sony system it will perform well. Its not a competition type product or sound. if you push it to be competition or a block-buster system it will fall apart! if you match your pieces together well and install it to spec it will do very nicely.

You to prioritize your car: 1st daily driver, 2nd drifter/quater mile racer, 3rd sound system, 4th show? if you can put this in the order you can start spending your money wisely!

Sony Xplods suck period. They're cheap so thats probably why they blow. If you get a 1000 watt RMS amp and run it to even 2 12" xplod subs they'll blow up. Even though on my friends 10" xpplod sub it says 1100 watts max power. I hate company's that overrate everything.I have 2 kicker comp VR 12"subs and they're wicked. even one sub amped by a 400 rms amp rattles my whole car and my mirrors shake. avoid all xplod stuff. my friends deck is not even a year old and every speaker in his car is fuzzy.(its a son

Max rating isn't constant.. it's reserved for quick "spikes" - say when a song has a short bass burst... the constant RMS rating is better to follow..
