The ALPINE type R
Or the

If money isn't a problem...go with the audiobahn...otherwise the alpines will hit with a nice crisp sound if powered with a nice amp.

And if you're looking for a small unit, nothing beats the Kenwood 'Woox'. I think that's the nickname for it. The unit is so small you can literally tuck it anywhere and still use our tiny trunk space. The sound quality is NICE and not BOOMY at all.

I would personally do a single 12 in a ported box. Depending on which sub you choose, I would go with the Alpine because the Audiobahn is their entry level model (the crap that everyone can afford) but they do look tight. The Alpine would probably be a little clearer and crisper but not as loud, especially if you couple it to a 500W Alpine Amp. Thats the way I would go. Just my .02.

Audiobahn

I have JL in my S14 but I had 2 Audiobahn 12s I believe they were taht series and they got stolen. They sounded awsome though. Just about as good as what I have now. 3 JL 10W0 and 1 JL 15W0 all put in a custom box facing up. You would have to go with 12s if you want them to stand up right because the 15 has to be fit into the spare tire well. I had that custom box built for 250. Then the 10s built around. But go with the Audiobahns I never had a problem with them.

hmmmmmm......

ok....being that this is my job....heres my 2 cents....ok first off never buy alpine....they sux....second off audiobahn is a great company....but i hate to brake it to ya but JL is by far the best.....i have 4 JL 12" w3 v2's with 2 1000/1 bridged to 500 a peice....and i win everytime....the amp will cost you around 800$ a peice but the subs are 110$ a peice....and they are the ****.....i made my box so that 2 are pointing up to the top of my trunk and the other 2 are facing the back of my trunk....this past sunday at a bass comp i hit 167.4 DB's i win first every time.....but if you arent in to all that and still want the choice between the two...i would go audiobahn......

sorry guys i disagree. Alpines are way better.
I've got two s-12 12's and my friend has 2 of
the audiobahn's you were talking about
(the lower grade ones) and my system tears
his up. we've even took our cars to tweeter
to have them measure our sounds. me 142
and him 126. he's even using an audiobahn
1400watt amp compare to my JL 500/1 monoblock
amp.

which by the way i'm selling my system if n-e one's
interested.
