i have the same problem but i live in Edmonton AB. The lowest rate i got was 4854 / year. that was through an insurance broker and me phoning like 10 different companies.
THEN i found this one insurance company that classified a 240 as a Station wagon???? They quoted me 2800/year. Keep lookin and nnever give up cuz you will never know what u will find.

Glad to see another Canadian fellow 240 lover. Cheers~

Well, I'm paying more than 4g a year for both of my car 'coz I didn't have any insurance records before. The only charge I was able to get rid of was the young driver. (Ok, I know I'm old. )

So, yeah, keep looking and good luck, bud.

Long time no see, RS13, you doing fine? Where did you dig out that 2800 rate? I need that badly, too...

im payin around 4 grand also but i store it for winters so im only getting ripped off halfway. the rates are ridiculous and if u get hit in a parking lot they cant do anything about it. my friend found that out the hard way

Drift-Obsession:
By temporary, you mean getting a regular insurance in 3- or 6-month term instead of annual? Or just by days or weeks? If the later, hell, they're ripping us off a BIG BIG time. Just keep calling up those insurance companies. Good luck, bud!

Soopafly_J:
Yeah. Coz they can't decide who's really right or wrong in a parking lot. Usually both parties will just end up being accused responsible on their own.

Not sure about Nova Scotia, but in BC it's like $30+/day if you get temp permit w/ gov insurance just for a few days. Since BC insurance rate is considered moderate across Canada, guess we're not really better off. Again, searching around helps.

Thanks a lot Coach, the rate sounds great.
It's in Edmonton, right? I'm gonna check on that after I get back.
I'm in Japan for the first time in my life, gotta check out some hot rigs & gals.
