If you are saying " this is straying from what D1 is all about and "americanizing" it. " Then D1 should pretty much stay in Japan and the only way we can see it is on video or buy a plane ticket to Japan.

Honestly how do you know what D1 is all about? Sunpros ( the owners and operators of D1 Grand Prix), Keiichi Tsuchiya and Daijiro are actually the ones who wanted it this way. America is a totally different market than Japan, therefore, adjustments need to be made. Its about seeing the bigger picture. D1 and drifting wants to become a global contest and they can't do that without being able to adapt to different markets.

You can always call Sunpros Co. Ltd. and tell them that you dont like the direction D1 is taking with the US event.

im just curious....what do you think would make it better? The people running D1 wanted to add more spice to the event but I guess thats the only thing they came up with.

They could always make it a two day event and have some of the other competitors teach a basic and an advanced class on the first day. Then they could also allow the advanced class to participate in the event if they so desired at an additional cost. That would be pretty cool right?

yeah the first time komatsu came out here they did a short clinic type thing before hand. it helped alot of people. it wouldnt even need to be keiichi himself, but any D1 driver would have much to teach cali drifters.
