92 240sx limited slip diff

I was wondering if a 92 240sx fastback has limited slip , if it does it really doesnt work good around turns. and do the 300z diff fit on the 240s with no mods..

First off moved to the drivetrain section, please post in the right area.

The only S13 240s that had a vlsd were Super HICAS equipped hatchbacks. So if its a HICAS model then it should have a VLSD. If not then 95% sure it doesnt, unless they modified it to have one. Z32 diff do fit, but there is some modding needed. find a 90+ Z32 non turbo VLSD, you need to swap output flanges.

HyJynX...question? They guy i bought my 92 from told me that it has a LSD but it is not a hicas. He said that the original diff blew and the nissan dealler put one in. If that is true do you have any idea what kind it would be. I would take it apart but the weather here sucks and i don't have the time to check. thanks

VT: The dealership could have possibly installed a VLSD in...Try doing this test. Lift the rear end of your car, make sure the car isnt in gear, spin one wheel. If the other wheel spins with it then you should have a LSD, then try it IN gear. The other spin should spin the other way(or is it with it?)But if it doesnt spin at all then you dont have LSD. I hope i explained that well...
bonomo: Here is a site, look at the bottom http://**********/links/installs/lsd2/index.htm

infiniti j-30 vlsd bolts up with output shafts and rear cover off original open diff---also you can look at the fill point on the diff and if it is lsd then it will say it

Okay...I did that test yesterday..I lifted my car up in the rear and put it in gear...they both spinned but one seemed to spin faster than the other...does this mean I have LSD or is it just open diff?

Did it spin the same way or opposite? Did you try it in neutral as well? In neutral both should move the same way freely.
