Another HUD question
Another HUD question
Alright well from all the different threads I got when searching, it seems my problem isn't as bad as some others had it.
I have an HUD, and yes it works, the only problem that I'm facing is that at night when I turn on the lights, well the gauge cluster lights up, and the HUD dimms. The problem is that for some reason while I start driving, the gauge cluster lights turn off, and the HUD doesn't dimm anymore. So for some reason it seems that the gauge cluster doesn't see that I have my lights on! A tap on the dash somewhat sometiems fixes the problem, but then again if I turn off and turn the lights back on, the gauge cluster lights turn on again.
So should I take the 2hours to take apart the gauge cluster and maybe check for those all soo bad soldering... or does the problem come from somewhere else? What is telling the gauge cluster to dimm the HUD and turn on the lights? is this an ecu related problem? Yeah sounds stupid but I really don't know how the whole thing works.. and when I turn my lights on what dimms the whole inside of the car and turns on my gauge cluster? maybe the midget inside the car is getting too old to know the difference?

i dont think it has anything to do with the H.U.D. at all unless your window read out is going out also.
when the light goes out do all teh gauges still function?
if so it sounds like it might be a dimmer problem. try messin with your dimmer switch next time it happens
Just my $.02
Josh
i also have a working h.u.d HA to you non-digital gauge people! lol
