Auto - Manual swap ECU questions

I have just about completed my auto to manual swap, and I was curious about a couple of things to do with the ECU.

1. If I swap my auto ECU for a manual one will I have to find a manual ECU that had ABS and cruise control? Or do all ECU's have it and it just depends on wether or not they are "found" by the ECU on the wiring harness?

2. If I have an OBD II 95, can I use any OBDII S14 ECU or am I limited to the 95 OBDII model year?

3. If I swap out the ECU will I have to make big changes to the wiring harness? or just replace the lower wiring harness? or could I just keep the auto wiring harness, and not get any CEL lights. (I have already spliced the wires, so that the car starts, and the reverse lights work, but if I switch the ECU it's not a big deal to go back)

Kep in mind I have searched, and that I could find nothing on here or google that explained these questions, and the auto to manul FAQ does not cover this.

Keep your ECU from the auto. It will not give you any CEL and will not have a speed or rev limiter like the Manual one.

Diferent ECU's might work fro mthe same year, but limited compatibility.

Manual Tranny won't work on a Auto Harness, I'll conect, but many changes in solenoids and relays, might burn it.

Just don't swap it (the ECU's). There's no point ot it.
I believe the ABS works separatedly from the ECU. Now a non ABS ECU with a ABS ecu...... I don't think thye are compatible, even same year.

Just try it with the AUTO ECU.

Good luck

I think something got mixed up there, what were you trying to say?

The Auto ECU does make the CEL go on, even with the harness' swapped, I think the wiring harness and ECU have to be changed to get it work without the CEL going off. I'll mess around with it some more and see what happens....
