Automatic tranny trouble

I have an automatic tranny and want a manual but dont have the money for one right now. My automatic is acting very weird and recently I have lost overdrive and the next day I lost first gear does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it, my geus is that its the torque converter?

It sounds like the tranny needs a rebuild, iirc after a time the clucth packs and/or synchros (correct me if I'm wrong) wear out, without the tranny can't access the gears with the damaged clutch packs or synchros. You have 2 options, get a rebuilt tranny out in (or have yours rebuilt), or do the manual swap

Definetly swap, it'll probably be cheaper than rebuild considering most mechanics I know fear the automatic. I was just hoping that one of my computer controls was going bad or somethin but the tranny does have 126k on it and for a while I had to relocate the transmision fluid cooler and and its possible the oil wasn't cooling enough. Well looks like I'll need to start saving.
