Ok goin with fully built motor with lots of laughing gas.

Lookin at about 450-475 whp in my track car (s13 fully gutted with s14 sr20det) should be 2100 lbs. with me in it

j30 lsd and slicks

Wondering if my new spec stage 3 clutch will do it or if not ill get one while its out.

It says 460 tq.

If i make 450 whp my wtq should be less or no????

if i am understanding corectly your asking if the tourqe should be less than HP.

In most cars yes tourqe is usually less than HP, but SRs seem to usually pull abou the same numbers on both HP an TQ, sometimes more. so if you have 450WHP you should have about 450 WTQ usually.

 

i wouldnt chance it i would change it now rather than have to pull it back apart later

 

with slicks ur gona need to do a lot better than that

 

yeah with around 450 tq and slicks youll snap it like a twig my friend had a stage 2 exedy in his rx7 runnin around 350 hp and tq and put slicks on it at the track and broke his pressure plate into 3 pieces

 

so what clutch would you guys recommend. the spec stage 3 + cause i heard the stage 5 is garbage??????????

 

I don't know if you need a new clutch or not, but i'm pretty sure that you don't have anywhere near 450lbs of torque. You probably are running like 375 maybe. smaller engines just dont make alot of torque, even when they are making lots of hp. for example look at the XS engineering time attack R32. Its making 850 hp but only 615 tq. I mean thats alot, but its 235 less than the hp numbers. All I'm saying is that its way harder with smaller displacement engines to increase tq and hp proportionately, so my guess is that you arent at 450 wtq.

 

ok but also figure that nitrous creates alot of tq. and also figure slicks too

using the r32 as a scale im looking at 460 whp 375 wtq and thats not inlcuding the slicks!!!!!!!!!!

 

Yeah like i said i was just guessing. If i were you i would change the clutch just to be safe. Those slicks are gonna be alot rougher on your whole drivetrain so its probably the safest bet.

 

well 850 hp ya it probally starts to drop in tourqe but ive seen plenty of SRs running 300 HP and 300TQ.

 

ok so any recommendations in a clutch, im thinking either spec stage 3+ or some type of act???

IM THINKIN OF JUST USING AN ACT XTREME 6 PUCK DISK ON MY SPEC STAGE 3 PP. WILL IT FIT AND WORK GOOD??????????????????????????

 

GUYS I REALLY NEED SOME HELP MY TUNER IS TELLING ME TO GO WITH A ONE PEICE CLUTCH KIT LIKE A EXEDY HYPER SINGLE PLATE.

But it says it only holds 400hp why would I do that.

I wanna run a clutch that can hold my 475 whp with slicks and not fry in two months or 20 1/4 mile passes.
