Drivetrain Heat

I have a lot of heat coming from my transmission that warms the center console to quite a high temp. I just purchased the car and am wondering if this is normal. I know my 69 Camaro's 4 speed puts off a lot of heat up through the stick so I'm not too worried but firgured I'd ask.

Normal.

Your right foot will also start getting cooked if you have a clogged cat, missing heat sheild or test pipe.

Ok good. The car only has 70K on it so I figured it couldn't be a problem. But there is a lot of heat down by my pedals, I guess the cat just has to go...what a shame...

It is normal(pretty normal), but it can be your shift boot that is cracked or ripped. The heat will go threw that and heat up the cabin. Mine gets real hot

Same for my car... if you're creativ enough you can get some heat shield material, cut it to shape, and shove it in between the carpetting and the transmission wall (and under the console near the shifter, back by the pedals, etc.) I did that and it cut the temps down
