Even worse clutch problem
I posted a clutch problem not too long ago. Looks like I have an even bigger problem... It seems that the reason why my clutch was not activating was because of a release bearing problem. Well anyways I have a brand new 4 puck clutch from ACT that is stuck in my transmission shaft. I fitted the clutch in and aligned it, went in smoothly too. Taking out the transmission was super hard because the clutch was in there the way it was. ACT would replace my clutch if I send it back in "in one peice". I was thinking of taking it out with a 4 prong puller. May be the best way to remove the jammed clutch without damaging it or the tranny. If anyone out ther knows a better way to take out the clutch please let me know. In addition to that that mother ****er is really jammed in. So back that even a crowbar was not even able to remove it.
thx for reading and hope to hear some good advice,

I cannot really tell because the clutch is so jammed in, as if it didn't even line up with the teeth when the tranny was put in. I talked with the friends that put in the tranny while I was away, said it had some troubles stabbing it--could explain why it's jammed. Hopfully its still OK...

How could that have even happened? If it is stuck to the main shaft, which is splined, then something is really screwed up. If the splines are damaged then you will need to replace tranny or shaft. I'm not sure you can even fine a 4-prong puller that is big enough to fit around the circumference of the clutch itself. That would be a logical way, if not the only way. Don't pry, hammer, etc. You want to evenly pull it towards the rear without further damaging the shaft, if it hasn't already been damaged.

Thanks guys for all your help, but unfortunatly the puller didn't get my clutch out--it bent it instead. So I have no choice but to cut it and hope that the splines on my tranny shaft is still in good shape. Oh and if anyone is sponsored with ACT and could get a nice disc on clutch discs that would be great as well.
thanks again,

Just in case you guys were wondering what happened to my clutch problem I had no choice but to cut the clutch. I cut off the 4 pads so I could get a good hook/leverage point for my puller. And yes, the puller did do the job since it's capacity was 5 tons. The splines on the tranny shaft is still in perfect condition. I went out and bought a 6 puck race disc and is now assembled. I will put the tranny in tomorrow. Wish me luck guys, hope for a smooth install . I'll get those pics up ASAP for you guys to take a look and to shed a tear for my destroyed clutch disc, I know my eyes began to water every time a peice of my disc ripped off.
