Unhappy Fly wheel for auto?

Is it a good idea to upgrade to a light weight fly wheel in an automatic, I'm trying to put my car on a diet and losing weight where-ever I can.

Well first off it's called a flex plate (not flaming just so you don't sound dumb if you go to a store asking for one). Second, I don't think (I'm not an automatic guy) they make them for autos, because it's not doing anything except starting the car. Third, the entire auto setup is very very heavy, like more than you would imagine. If you REALLY wanna lose weight (even from JUST a weight perspective) swap to a 5 speed. It' s a lot lighter and it's easy to to (like 2 days MAX if you work slow). Performance-wise...well just read these forums lol.

They have flex plates....it's where the flywheel is on a manual...all it is is a ring gear...cranks the engine and starts it.
