would synthetic tranny fluid be ok for the ka tranny if it was gl-2 -gl5 rated
|
old thread but shouldnt you NOT be using synthetic in the transmission? something about it being too slick and not letting the synchro's work properly? My '93 240sx shop manual says use GL-4 in the transmission, Synth only GL5 in the diff.

So, while we are on the topic of gear oils, what does anyone know about royal purple fluids. I know their motor oil is good, but their gear oil says it uses a special additive that wont wear down soft metals, and it is both GL4 and GL5 approved. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Every time I hear that brand of synthetics all I hear is good comments about it so it might be worth it to give it shot :)
