gears grinding!! help!

ok i just started out driving manual not too long ago.. i have a question, when i try to put my car into reverse, and i have my clutch all the way down, it grinds sometimes and need to be pushed in a bit, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt, i make sure that my car is stoped when i shift into reverse.. as a matter of fact, i have 1 feet on clutch, and 1 on brake. why does it grind?

Also, im starting to hear a little bit of metal contact when i shift into 2nd gear, sometimes (very seldom) on 3rd as well, its not grinding, but i can feel a little metal contact. why is this??

Another thing that troubles me is sometimes at around 10miles or 2000rpm in 2nd gear, i can push into 1st gear, it just wont go in.. does anyone know why?

The car has around 80k miles... whats going on? do i need a new transmission at this stage already?? or do i just need a transmission oil change? maybe amsoil or redline? what do you guys think??

The cheap: adjust clutch, try changing tranny fluid with good stuff. The expensive: Need new clutch, tranny synchro's, tranny replace/overhaul.

i started the car today and reversed twice, no grind, and i only get metal contact on 2nd and 3rd if i shift really fast, if i dont, it doesnt do the metal contact at all, its fine, whats going on?

car mileage is 80kmiles. by the way, how do i know when i need to change my clutch?? I dont think i need tranny overhaul yet, ive been looking at peoples problems, mine seems alot minor.

i dont think its the clutch. when the clutch is bad it just slips as if you were to step on it and the engin would just rev but now go. i have that exact same problem. but mine in r i just let of the clutch a litle as i pit it into r and it will engage. but it also whont go in with ease into gear when cold.

If it only does it when you shift fast sounds like synchros. I don't think dirty gear oil would cause that. What about adjusting your clutch. When my clutch needs adjusting, I sometimes get a little gear meshing in reverse. When does the clutch begin to grab when releasing pedal off of the floor? If it is grapping at max travel or has to be depressed to the floor really hard, I'd say adjust. Some people like their pedal to be adjusted so it grabs right off of the floor so there is little time wasted with travel. Important when racing. Like I said in previous post. This is a "freebie fix" and won't cost you anything except time. I run this expensive gear oil in mine. I can't remember the name at the moment but it is expensive. B&m or something close to that. It may solve some of the shifting issues, maybe!!!

Ok, Most jap cars don't have synchros for reverse. So yea you will grind rev everyonce in a while. EVERYTIME YOU GO IN REVERSE, put tranny in second gear and then go into reverse. Don't ****up ur tranny, take the extra time and go into 2nd.

2nd and 3rd gear synchros are prob a lil worn out. car is 10yrs old and has 80k on them. Give it some slack. Use redline oil and take ur time going into gear. We have hydraulic clutches so no need to adjust. Cable cjutches have to be adjusted.

And yes if ur in 2nd at like anything over 1000rpm 1st gets locked out so u dont ****up the tranny. it's doing u a favor. why would u go into 1st from 2nd at 2krpm anyway? It's the same if ur in 5th and rev gets locked out.

So u dont need a clutch or tranny just change to redline oil. And take ur time while u are learning. Goodluck!!!
