How can i tell if I have a lsd???
OK I own a 1990 240sx, I know it has the sport package that cost 2100 extra, but it doesnt even have a/c lol. Anywayz I was looking at zilvia.net`s vlsd install and the regular diff. that they took out didnt have the heat sink cooling fins on it but the vlsd did, my car has those cooling fins on the lsd, is there any other way to find out, when I burn out it does burn out on both tires but a little more on one than the other. Is there any for sure way to know??

As far as I know, the only S13s with VLSD had Hicas, which wasn't an option on the zenki hatchbacks. You're chances of having a VLSD are very slim, and the only way you have is if a previous owner installed one.

The fun way.
Step 1 Rev to Redline
Step 2 Dump the clutch
Step 3 Wait a few seconds
Step 4 Get out of the car and count the number of stripes on the ground 1 = No LSD, 2 =LSD
The other way
Or you could try and inspect your diff and check for things like the ABS sensor line or usually there's an orange sticker saying LSD

go with the second method that EAGLE 5 posted, or Hollowpoint's strategy. because, under the right circumstances, even open diff cars can leave two marks (theres a thread where someone w/an open diff car was confused because of that).
also, driftMachine, it's my understanding that most (if not all) Canadian S13 models 91+ came with vlsd (regardless of HICAS). even the coupes. dunno if it had to do w/snow and safety or whatever...
oh yeah, and u sorry creeps got the non-choking-u-to-death-upon-starting-the-vehicle manual seatbelts, too. lol (j/k bout the 'creeps' part )

The US is the ONLY country that got screwed out of VLSD on every S chassis car.
