I used the same driveshaft from my 240. If on a serious budget, use your same driveshaft. I got the J30 cause I too was on a serious budget. Smart move! I usually agree with you catharsis, but this time, if in a money crunch, buy what can be afforded for the rear end.
You can fab up something to use the J30 driveshaft, but it'll take some work. I was lazy.

i used the 95 rear end and it fit perfectly..you have enough slack in the mounts for the same driveshaft to be used---everything bolted up--just make sure you keep the j-30 bolts that hold the rear end in because the mounting ears are different...if you dont have the bolts then goto a hardware store and get the longer bolts with a thick washer
