how much can our factory fly wheel be lightend and still retain enough strength?? how much would a shop charge to do it(general estimate.. i know each shop will vary)?? and is it worth it.... over just buying a light weight wheel??

24-25 pounds. I think you can lighten it down to about 16 lbs. As for a general estimate, new flywheel is between 380 and 420. Racing flywheel (aluminum) is 11 lbs i believe. Labor depends on where you go. It's at most a 2 hour job (shorter but just to give estimates) and at a general cost of 55$/hr, a new flywheel and install would be about $500.

It's better just to get a CNC machined Fidanza Aluminum fly wheel.......
At 11 lb.s it kicks ***..... I got mine for $250.00 from Nizzx when I also purchased a stage 2 clutch kit for another $250.00..
Total package was $500 out the door with $25.00 shipping.....

How r they for drifting / drag launchs?

i got my flywheel lightened at a local machine shop. he only took off about 6 lbs, and it only took him an hour. it cost $50 to get it lightened, and $20 to resurface.
