So if you have LSD, how can you tell when your driving. What does it feel like, if anything. For example, It was raining the crazy last week and I was driving. I took a couple turns fairly quickly and felt the car start to slip, but then it seemed like the car adjusted itself and stopped slipping. THis happened about two or three times during a turn. Feel the car start to slip, stop, slip again, stop, etc. I'm pretty sure I wasnt doing any of the adjusting during steering. Would the LSD feel like that? Or are the tires just gaining traction in mid turn.

Do you have ABS? I know there is a connection between abs and lsds on s14s.

You could still get two patches if neither tire has grip. They would both be able to lay rubber.

The switch to one is your diff at work. Sounds like you don't have vlsd.

Also, if you have the rear end jacked up, just turn one of your tires in one direction. If the other tire spins the same way, you have LSD, if the other tire spins in the opposite direction, you don't have LSD.
just put it in neutral, jack it up, and spin a rear wheel?

Jack the car up from the rear. Put jack stands under the car to stabalize it. Use chocks up front as well. With the car in nuetral, not in gear, spin one of the rear tires in either direction. If you spin one tire foward, and the other tire spins in the same direction, you have LSD. If you spin a tire foward and the other tire spins the opposite way, you dont have LSD.

I have been looking for an LSD for my S14 and i am trying to get a new one, have any of you heard of the Phantom Grip LSD? I was looking in my friend's JEG's magazine and saw it. It says R200 and has upgradeable springs. I am hesitant on buying it because i have never heard of it.

On a VLSD, I don't think the wheels spin works too accurately. I've heard people saying that they have gotten it to work, and I've also heard of people who couldn't get the "Wheel-spin test" to work. In order for a Viscous diff to engage, the viscous fluid needs to be heated. This is caused by one of wheels slipping.

for the price phantumgrip has, you can buy a LSD from a canadian model for less and just swap them out

VLSD test works fine. Turn the wheel and the other will follow.

I don't know how much heat I made but I do think I am hot. J/K! Hahahahaha

LSD's

check out heavythrottle.com I know they are importing LSD's from JDM Silvia's and I don't think they are that expensive. check their site or e-mail them and they can find one for sure.
