M/T with R34 RB25DET?

Do all R34 RB25DET engines comes with their funky M-ATx tranny?
I'd -eventually- like to do a RB25DET swap.

No, RB26DET -- one turbo sounds like enough fun

For "economical" reasons a RB25DET seems more likely... but so much to do first (suspension this and brakes that *sigh*)

Nice choice

But then Im biased!

I too now need suspension and new bushes all round. Brakes? Well R34 GTR Brembos up front with R33 GTS rears

I did the conversion 18 months ago (well started it then anyway).

Went for SilEighty last June.

Looks and goes quite nice

Mail me if you need help...

Cheers

Where did you get your R34 Brembos?! I must find out! Was the swap hard? If you know the comparison, please compare it to the 300ZX brake swap.

Brembos vs 300ZX brakes

Well, there are guys that dont rate the ZX brakes - but if you get a decent disc/pad setup they are very good (cheaper than brembos anyway!)

I dint drive the car "that" hard anymore - owing to an accident in a previous S13 a few years back. I never got fade with the CA lump installed, but I did get it with the RB lump - the extra weight over the front end probably helped! I wasn't even giving it that much, which is why I was so concerned. I picked up the calipers and pads for a good(ish) price and then got hold of a set of aftermarket (not Nissan) discs. I had them re-drilled for 4 stud (as I had the ZX discs).
I had the calipers helicoiled with a thread so that I can use std S13/S14 bolts too - the S13/S14 run a 12mm fine thread, the R33 run 12mm too, but its not the fine thread. The R34 runs 14mm thread so you either have to drill the hub to cater for it, or helicoil as I did.

The brakes are great, they haul you up very nice. Im just about to fit a ZX master cylinder to give me a little bit more pedal feel.
