question about trans.

how bad is to put R while your driving? is it really bad?
cause yesterday while i was driving with my gf. she accidenly pushed my trans into to N than R and P(auto). it made very awful noise. im scare that she jacked up my trans.

I did that before in my taurus, not good. It shouldn't have killed it as long as you were going pretty slow, just don't make a habit of it.

If you heard a rapid clicking or grinding sound then you may be screwed. It may be just a matter of time before the clutches and valves in the tranny get screwed beyond repair. This has happened to me before. One piece of advice, next time pull over before you start the 'extracurricular activities'

no about the wrong forum, thats what moderators are for, heh.

And as long as you don't do it again there shouldn't be a huge problem. Just make her pay for that, heh. Worse comes to worse i'll ship you my spare auto tranny, lol. But yeah, as long as it still shifts and goes smooth in reverse there shouldn't be a problem.

It might be good to do a tranny service and add some lucas transmission fix. It might help prevent a problem from occuring later on.
